My
wife, Debbie and I recently decided to return to
the Mount Washington Valley which is actually
where I started my legal career after graduating
from law school in 1982.
Between 1982 and 1988, I worked for the Conway
Police Department as a prosecutor and legal
advisor. And, it was during that period of time
that I developed an affinity for the area and
its people.
Debbie and I left the Valley in 1988 when I
accepted a position with the Cheshire County
Attorney’s office as an assistant county
attorney.
I spent eighteen years with the Cheshire County
Attorney’s office as a prosecuting attorney,
having spent my last four years in Keene as the
Cheshire County Attorney. During that period of
time, I did an extensive amount of jury trial
litigation in the Superior Court where the
majority of my cases involved serious felony
level offenses, such as rape, robbery, negligent
homicide and aggravated assaults.
My trial experience seems to have served me well
in the areas in which I concentrate my practice:
criminal defense, landlord-tenant law, land
use/zoning issues, probate administration –
wills, family law – divorce, custody,
termination of parental rights and guardianship
issues, and litigation of civil issues.
Having decided not to run for re-election this
past year, I learned that Matthew had
established a well respected and growing law
practice in Conway and he was looking to grow.
As friends from our days with the Conway Police
Department in the 80’s, we share similar values
stressing honesty, character, reliability and a
dedication to involvement in our community.
In my spare time I am a member of the Whittier
Lions Club, and the Knights of Columbus of Our
Lady of the Mountain Parish. I am a volunteer
with the Conway Area Humane Society, and the
Conway Area Chamber of Commerce. My wife and I
like to spend our “down time” at the Maine coast
in Moody and Ogunquit along with our greyhound,
Joey.
I am happy to once again be with you all in the
Mount Washington Valley, a truly beautiful place
to work and play.
Stop by and say hello at our
cozy office at 6 Pleasant Street, the 4 Corners,
in Conway Village.
